Learn to Skate Camp participants should expect a fun introduction to the basics of ice skating, whether they choose to pursue figure skating, hockey, or just becoming a better recreational skater.  Excellent supplemental camp for skaters already enrolled Learn to Skate classes.  This camp is recommended for skaters with limited experience, up to the Basic 5 curriculum.

Each camp is tailored to the participant’s current skating level and will be held Monday, June 9 – Friday, June 13. All levels are for ages 5 and up. Deadline for registration is June 2, with a late fee of $20.

Bronze Level [for skaters with no experience - Basic 2]

Investment $99
This camp includes five on ice classes during public session and requires no prior skating experience.

The perfect camp for those interested in learning the basics, as well as beginning skaters in our Learn to Skate Program, the curriculum will follow the Basic 1 & 2 Skills levels. Skaters will receive a Certificate of Achievement at the end of class and earn badges if levels are passed.

Basic 1: Sit and stand on the ice, March forward across the ice, Forward two-foot glide, Dip, Forward Swizzles, Backward wiggles, Snowplow stop, Rocking horse, Two-foot hop in place

Basic 2: Forward one-foot glides, Backward two-foot glide, Backward swizzles, Two-foot turn in place, Moving snowplow stop, Forward alternating 1/2 swizzle pumps

Silver Level [for skaters Basic 3-8]

This camp includes five on ice classes and practices, ten off ice classes, and a daily healthy lunch and public session.

Tailored to skaters wanting an introduction to the exciting world of figure skating, campers will discuss and discover off the ice prior to learning on ice, through Introductory Classes. Skaters will need to bring athletic shoes, a water bottle, and yoga mat daily.

Introductory Classes On & Off Ice: Edges, Jumps, Spins, Competition, Interpretive

Off Ice Exercises: Cardio, Speed & Agility, Body Circuit, Ab Intervals, Lower Focus, Stretching

This camp includes fifteen on ice classes, ten practices, five off ice classes, and a daily warm up, snack, and healthy lunch.

Push your skating to the maximum level with this camp that covers the technical and performance aspects of figure skating. Skaters will need to bring athletic shoes, a water bottle, and yoga mat daily.

On Ice Classes: Artistry In Motion, Dance, Edges, Interpretive, Jumps, Moves in the Field, Power, Spins, Stroking,

Off Ice Exercises: Cardio, Speed & Agility, Body Circuit, Ab Intervals, Lower Focus, Stretching

All participants must hold U.S. Figure Skating Sports Accident Insurance, valid from July 1 – June 30 each year. Insurance is only $15 and may be purchased online or at the Ticket Office. Those enrolled in multiple programs only need to pay the annual fee one time each year. Members receive a free SKATING Magazine each year!
